NO FIREDOG
| S A V E I R V I N E |
Circuit City has a new service called
firedog.
Firedog is having
a contest called
firedog Across America.
Here is how the contest works:
1) Tell firedog Your Story
Tell firedog your personal story about how a local firehouse has demonstrated
service to your community. If your story is chosen as one of 10 finalists, you
will receive a $10,000 home "tech-over" from firedog and your fire station will
receive a $20,000 donation.
2) America Votes
Once the 10 finalist firehouses have been chosen, the stories will be posted on
http://firedog.com and America will vote for their favorite.
3) The Best Part, Everyone Wins
All of the finalist firehouses win. For every vote cast for a finalist
firehouse, that finalist firehouse will receive a $1.00 donation (total
donations based on voting for all 10 firehouses not to exceed $250,000). After
16 days, the station with the most votes will be the national grand-prize winner
and receive an additional $100,000 donation!

Dear Circuit City CEO,
Sorry - We Already Gave!
Supporting this Circuit City Program encourages
Government Employee Fraud and waste and places unnecessary additional burdens on
taxpayers across America, who already can't afford to buy groceries and other
necessities for their families, because they earn far less than Firefighters do.
Shame on You Circuit City!

P.S.
I plan on asking our California Attorney General if he
thinks it's cool to use Taxpayer Assets or a representation of them, in your
advertising campaign - I don't.

Taxpayers - Why Say No?
Taxpayers already Paid for Fire Trucks and Fire
Station Equipment, so, where did our money go...
We're being scammed by Circuit City and our
so-called Firefighter Heroes!
Circuit City is preying on the fears of the
9/11 days, hoping they'll cash-in because you want to support your local
Firefighters, and hoping that you think that they're underpaid.
Not True - Don't be fooled by these tactics!
Your local Firefighters get paid, very well, and we
already paid for Fire Equipment, so if there isn't enough Fire Equipment, then
it must be time to cut-back on inflated salaries and benefits - fewer
Firefighters and more Fire Trucks, might be just the answer.

Steven
Greenhut - OC Register Columnist - embroiled in a argument with the firefighters on the Register's Blog,
and writes of an absolutely hilarious email from their union:
The firefighters union rep just e-mailed me and said that, in his experience,
the public does not believe the salary and benefit numbers I have used. I am
still laughing out loud over this one. I take numbers right from the budget, and
from the county staff, and the union admits they are correct numbers.
He then goes on to document the numbers, SANS benefits and pensions.
These include all categories - captain - fire apparatus engineer and
firefighter.
